Sorry for the lack of posts again this week! I spent the first half of the week editing pictures from my second photo shoot. The pictures turned so great but the shoot was not without its mishaps. I got to the sight early and took some test shots to make sure I had good lighting and my camera settings ready to go. I had a lot of beautiful shots that I planned to share with all of you. When my friends arrived I started shooting away only to have my camera alert me that my memory card was full. The memory card I had made sure to empty the day before in preparation for this shoot. Well, the card needed to be reformatted. Fantastic. I haven't reformatted my card in a long time (obviously) and I couldn't remember how to do it! So now I am standing in front of clients, with a camera that won't take pictures and I feel like a complete and total moron. Thankfully, my friend's husband formatted the disc for me. Thank you, Tim! Unfortunately, that meant that I lost all of those beautiful shots I had planned on sharing. That's ok though. Things could have been way worse. I could have been halfway through the shoot and had to either start all over or stop completely. It all worked out and I ended up with some super cute pictures for them.
The rest of the week consisted of me catching up on all the stuff I had been neglecting while editing photos.
Yesterday, the creative bug bit. It has been a really long time since I have sketched anything in pencil, my medium of choice. I actually think it has been around six years.
As many of you have seen, I drew a picture of Ashlyn when she was about a year old. It is framed and was hanging in our house before the last move. I had never drawn a picture of Landon. Partially, because I never found a picture that I liked and also because starting a new drawing scares me. There is always the fear in the back of my head of, "what if I don't know how to do it any more?"
I worked on my picture yesterday afternoon and this is what I have so far...
I spared you the view of the eyes since they are currently just a blank outline. Landon came over and looked at it and said, "I can't wait until you draw my eyes...they look really creepy."
Landon was very curious about the picture. He came over and looked at it and said, "so you're sketching me, huh?" He wanted to look at all my art supplies, especially the art gum eraser.
So that's what I have been working on this week! I hope to get back to being more consistent with my posts. Until then, have a great weekend!

I hate that feeling of the memory card all of a sudden getting full! I'm glad you still got some good shots. I'd love to see some of them!
Your drawing looks fantastic! You're so talented!! Be sure to share the finished product when you're all done.
Have a good week!!
