Last week the temperatures dropped and the wind blew and I got my hopes up that fall was actually here before the week of Halloween. Fast forward to five days later and it is a dry 98 degrees without the slightest breeze. Fall is a big tease. Of course if you came to my house you wouldn't know it.
I even lit my cinnamon spice candle so the sights and smells of fall would be abundant in our home.
We made our first pumpkin bread of the season. Landon was all too eager to help. I'm not sure if he just really likes to bake or if he has figured out that if he helps out he will get to lick the beaters. Actually, I'm pretty sure it is the latter.
In complete contrast to the change of season that is occurring in our house, we took advantage of the warm weather and ventured out for some celebratory ice cream in honor of Landon's teeth being pulled.
I have one kid who gets the most disgusting radioactive colored ice cream available and one who makes a more sophisticated selection.
(on a sidenote, Ashlyn wears these glasses every single day. She literally only takes them off to sleep and to go to dance class. As the story goes, she had a pair of reading glasses with the lenses punched out from Memejo. Recently, she lost them and figured the 3D glasses would replace them nicely. She has been picked on a little for wearing her glasses but she stands her ground and wears what she likes. Proud Mommy moment.)
(Hmmm...I just noticed that Chris isn't wearing his wedding ring in this picture. Busted!!)
When the kids were almost done with their cones I noticed that Landon who is normally a huge mess after eating ice cream hardly had any on his face. Ashlyn however...
She likes that there is a lot more action than the Ballet class and I love that I don't have to do the "ballet bun" for this class.

She has major attitude to go along with some of the steps.

Fall soccer is also in full swing. When we left for the game on Saturday it looked as though God had done some finger painting in the sky.

When we got to the field Landon was eager to practice.

Landon has a lot of fun at soccer but he seems to have found his first love in basketball. He has a soft basketball that he plays with in the house and he literally never puts it down. I think he would sleep with it if we let him. He plays basketball at school every day and one of the first grade teachers plays with the kids and gives them pointers. I am pretty sure Landon would spend his entire day playing basketball if school work didn't get it in the way.

I want to personally thank everyone for all of the great comments! I read them all even if I don't respond. Thank you for taking the time to let me know you stopped by to see what we are up to! Keep them coming!
I hope life isn't too crazy for you. If it is, go and enjoy some down time with your family. Happy Tuesday!

Yeah I was pretty disappointed that it got hot again too! Although, last year we went to the beach on Sept. 24 and it was over 100° and we loved it.
Oh....put go for an ice cream on the list too :)
Still have not forgotten about you! We are heading out of town for four days, when we return hopefully life will slow down a bit! xo
I think she looks GREAT in her glasses!! Very fashion confident for sure!
And I noticed that right away about Chris too. I always catch it when Paul doesn't have his ring on! Drives me nuts!
And thanks. Now I'm craving a peanut buster parfait! ;)
Kristi, I love that you knew EXACTLY what Baskin Robbins sunday Chris got!! Good eye!! :)
