Firestation Trip

Memejo took Ashlyn and Landon on a super fun field trip to the San Jose Fire Department, Station number 29 . They got a tour of the station, saw the kitchen, living area and got to see the fire fighters slide down the fire pole. While the kids were touring the station the dispatcher came over the intercom and said "SJFD station number 29 welcomes some very special visitors, Ashlyn and Landon!" The kids couldn't believe they said their names!

One of the fire fighters put his mask on for the kids. He got down to their level so they could see that if their house were on fire they didn't need to be afraid of the fire fighters who will come in to save them. He also asked Landon if he had ever seen Star Wars because when he put on his mask he would talk like Darth Vadar. Landon was THRILLED! His two favorite things - Star Wars AND fire fighters combined!!

Then the firefighters took the kids on a ride in the engine! They were so excited! Ashlyn got to sit in the front and Landon sat in the back. They heard all the calls that came in through their headsets. The firefighters even ran the lights and the sirens!

When they got back to the station the fire fighters let them use the fire hose. They loved that the hose could change the type of spray!










Of course they asked a ton of questions. Only one question stumped them - Landon asked "Why don't you have a helicopter like Uncle Dommy?" They weren't really sure how to answer that. They had an awesome time!
