First, here are the pumpkins that we carved. From left to right: Ashlyn's scary pumpkin, my Mickey pumpkin, and Landon's silly pumpkin.
This year Landon was a firefighter for Halloween. He LOVED his costume and that he looked "just like Uncle Dommy". Ashlyn decided to be a Cinderella bride. She was SO excited because she got to wear a crown, a bride's dress AND make-up. She looked beautiful. Apparently, she thought so too. She said, "What if people think I am so beautiful that they want to take pictures of me?!" Chris considered dressing up himself - he was going to wear a tuxedo and carry a shotgun.
Ashlyn had a Halloween parade at school and went as a Princess (the kids had to be able to take off their costume and bring it home all by themselves and the princess dress was easier to maneuver. Plus, we didn't have to worry about losing pieces of the costume.) She was thrilled because she got to be first in line for the parade.
This year we went to San Jose for Halloween and stopped by the houses of a few of our good friends. We actually reverted back to our usual Halloween tradition of driving to the houses we know, trick or treating, spending a little time talking and then driving to the next house. We did go to one house where we didn't know the people who lived there. The kids rang the doorbell, said "trick or treat" and after they got candy they stood there staring at the man as if to say, "Why aren't you inviting us in?"
Overall, the kids got plenty of candy and enjoyed seeing friends.
