Kids say the darndest things...

As we all know, kids often say things that can take you by surprise. Many times it is because they haven't developed that little "sensor" that tells them what things are ok to say and what things are not ok. Kids tend to be brutally honest in that way. Sometimes you can laugh and sometimes you have to stifle the laughter so you can explain why what they just said is not supposed to be funny (even though it was hysterical). Here are some of the things our kids have said or done recently and not so recently (we consider these classics) that have cracked us up!

So a few months ago if you looked up at the moon you could see Venus and Jupiter right next to it. At one point you could put your thumb up and cover the moon, Venus and Jupiter in your line of sight because they were so close. So Chris had been showing them to the kids and they got really excited about it. They would look for them every time they got in the car or would go outside. One night Chris got in the car with Landon and when Landon looked out the window he said, “Daddy! I see Venus and Stupider!” Chris cracked up and corrected him. It was too funny.

One day while driving Ashlyn to school and we saw a cotton candy pink colored old school Volkswagen bug. Ashlyn starts cracking up from the back seat and says “Look at that clown car! How do grown ups fit in that car?!” I almost died laughing! My mom didn’t think it was so funny. She said, “I remember when they were the ‘new rage!’” Landon has recently started yelling things at Ashlyn that he thinks are nasty. The other day he yelled “You’re Adorable!” to her. Clearly he didn’t know what he was saying because he was yelling it in a way that said he was angry and it was an insult. Hahaha!

I have been listening to the Twilight soundtrack a lot. One of the songs is called La Traviata an opera song sung in Italian. So Ashlyn has been walking around singing that song! Of course she doesn’t know how to sing in Italian but she sounds like an opera singer. Her mouth is in a perfect “O” shape and it is hysterical! She also figured out that there are pretty good acoustics in the shower!

Here's a classic: Landon and Ashlyn were looking at cows one day about a year ago and Ashlyn explained to Landon that "cows eat hay and it turns into milk when you squeeze their tushies." HAHAHA!

I hope that gave you a little laugh!
