Halloween Fun!

I hope you all had a fun and safe Halloween! Ashlyn and Landon had a blast. They had coordinating costumes this year (which Mommy loves). Landon decided to go as Peter Pan and Ashlyn wanted to be Tinkerbell. As some of you may remember Ashlyn was Tinkerbell when she was 2 years old also but we figured if she wants to be the same thing every year what's the big deal?! I just wish she would stop growing so we could use the same costume!

We went the to Harvest Festival at church this year. The kids got a ton of candy and played lots of games. They decided that the Red Sea Plunge (giant balloon pit where you retrieve candy) and the donut game (tie a donut on a string, hang it from the ceiling and try to catch and eat it with you mouth) were their favorites. Landon was disappointed that he didn't get to go in the bounce house but with the rain and big kids it was a little safer for him to steer clear.

We don't really have any Halloween traditions. Up until last year when we went trick-or-treating in our friend's neighborhood Ashlyn and Landon thought Halloween consisted of getting in your car and driving to the houses of people you know to get candy. Hahaha. The good thing about this year was that the kids didn't get bombarded with a ton of scary images. Landon was having a bit of trouble with nightmares after seeing some scary things this Halloween season so we thought it was best to stick with something tame and fright-free. It wasn't a difficult decision to make because as you may have gathered there is no trick-or-treating in our neighborhood.

The donut game was hysterical! Ashlyn had powder from the donut all over her face. Although, in her defense, Daddy was holding the string and making sure it hit her in the face and got powder all over her. Landon would "sneakily" grab the donut with his hands so that he could get a bite. We had a blast! Hope you did too!

Thanks to Lemo's farm for the scary images that Landon saw! Poor kid.
