And just like that, summer was over & it was time to head back to school. While every year the first day of school is a big event this year it felt even bigger. Landon hadn't done in-person school since February 2020. That's 18 months of zoom school, 18 months of sub-par instruction & 18 months of not getting to socialize with other kids.
While Landon wasn't super excited about the school work he was looking forward to finally seeing his friends every day. This was his first day back at school since Ashlyn graduated. It wasn't a huge change since they don't have the same friends & it's not like they had any classes together. The biggest difference was that I was driving him to school again. Not gonna lie, I like the drive to school. We listen to the radio & talk (when he isn't still half asleep). I think that as they get older I realize how fleeting the time with them truly is so I really cherish it.
Man, how the time truly flies. He's grown so much in the last year...
