How many of you are totally over COVID-19? Anyone? Everyone? Yeah, that's what I thought.
Lockdown got old, real fast. Not being able to travel or get away has been frustrating. For the second year in a row we have not been able to book a campsite for our annual camping trip. For the second year in a row we had booked a trip to Oregon so that Landon could attend Chris Dudley basketball camp & due to covid restrictions the camp had to cancel. This year the kids & I thought, "well, at least we still get to go to Oregon, even if there is no camp." Unbeknown to us, Chris had cancelled the booking on the VRBO where we were going to stay in Oregon when the camp cancelled. Poor guy was unable to escape the disappointment of his family. Thankfully, he redeemed himself by booking a cabin in Tahoe for us to visit at the end of July. It was JUST what we needed.
The day we arrived there was a thick smoke blanketing Tahoe because of yet another California wildfire. We were anticipating having to deal with it the entire week but were pleasantly relieved when the smoke dissipated revealing blue-ish skies. In addition to the smoke-free skies we got to enjoy a Tahoe storm. Rain, hail & thunder. These are a few of my favorite things. Incidentally, they are also Ashlyn's favorite things & she basked in the mountain downpour...
Landon basked in having the entire loft all to himself...

Chris found another new Tahoe excursion for us. In searching for an adventure he found Tahoe Treetop Adventures, an aerial adventure park with rope swings, wobbly bridges, swinging logs, tightropes, cargo nets, horizontal climbing walls & zip lines. There were courses for every level of athleticism & we encountered everyone from little children to grandparents throughout the day. We had the BEST time & would recommend it to anyone!
From some of the platforms you could even catch a glimpse of the lake!
