Let me tell you a little bit about Pepper's BFF, Charlie. Charlie is Olivia's little boy. He is a chihuahua that they rescued & he is a few years older than Pepper.
Now, they weren't always friends. In fact, I'm pretty sure that Charlie hated Pepper when they first met. Being a puppy, Pepper was extremely curious & didn't quite understand personal space. Charlie didn't understand why she always up in his face, why she had so much energy or why she whimpered so much.

Our family watched Charlie a few times while Olivia's family were out of town & we were determined to have them get along. Pepper started out on a leash & once she calmed down we let her off leash. Slowly but surely they started to sniff each other out & Charlie eventually even let Pepper sit near him.
and they finally started getting along. Charlie was really shy & was always a little fearful around other dogs. Many dogs that come from rescue shelters are like that. He didn't really know how to play with toys & instead preferred chewing on stray ballpoint pens or old dog collars. Pepper taught Charlie the joy of chewing on bones & playing fetch. As time went on they got closer & closer.

They are both starting to understand the phrase "play date" & they get so excited whenever we mention the other's name.

Like most friends, they share toys & play together...
they make messes together...

they bark at the neighbors together...
and they even hide under the furniture together...
While typing this post I accidentally pushed "PLAY" on one of the videos which resulted in Pepper running around like a maniac & looking for Charlie. What can I say, they love each other.
