a little bit of Christmas...

We're moving pretty slowly around here.  I love the stillness after Christmas.  No school, limited work, time with family and friends.  The perfect combination.

I still love the excitement of Christmas morning.  The kids are bigger and some of the elements of a Christmas with littles are gone but the magic is still there.  It's revealed in their smiles and their happiness.

Landon's Christmas presents primarily revolved around one thing.  Basketball.  Or the Warriors.  Or Steph Curry.  Or all of the above.
Ashlyn has been wanting to redecorate her room.  She asked for some new decor and spent a good part of the day cleaning it out to get it ready.  When she wasn't reading, of course.

Landon did get one gift that didn't have to do with basketball.
Now he can pitch to his heart's content...and I won't have a bruised hand.

His big gift was a new basketball hoop.  A big one.  One that, as he says, "goes up to ten feet!  That's regulation height!"

Chris spent a good deal of time putting the hoop together.  A hoop that we later found out was the most difficult basketball hoop to assemble.

Landon didn't care.  He was thrilled.

Until it was built, we watched through the glow of Christmas tree lights, as he and his friend played one-on-one in the backyard.

The mom's stayed warm indoors.
My Christmas table was simple this year and reminded us all of why were were celebrating this amazing day.  Each person had two verses from Luke chapter 2 telling of the birth of Jesus.
During dinner Landon asked if we could read the story.  So one by one we went around the table and read the verses in front of us.

This is the making of a family picture...

And this was our happy group...

I hope you all had a Merry Christmas and enjoy the stillness between Christmas and the New Year.
