School ended with both kids finishing up strong and we have been back from our Oregon vacation with Papa and Emay for a little less than a week.
We had a great trip. We were in the car for a large portion of time. Like a lot. All I have to say is that it's a good thing we all like each other because being in a car that long with people who drive you crazy would be unbearable.
I actually really like road trips. You would think that with my propensity towards carsickness that I wouldn't like them, but I do. I especially like road trips through lush green forests and along coastal roads. Oregon provides the best of both.
Mt. Shasta was one of our first stops as we headed up north. Completely breathtaking.
Landon was my backseat car buddy for the first leg of the trip. Dutch Bros for the win!
When we finally got to the hotel in Grants Pass, Oregon, Landon jumped straight into the pool. Quite literally...
Ashlyn was a little more hesitant but Chris & Landon thought they would give her the gentle nudge she needed...
Okay, so maybe it wasn't so gentle.
Someone had left a soft Nerf ball at the pool. Chris threw the ball and Ashlyn and Landon did tricks and dives to catch it.
After dinner we went for a walk to the park across the river from our hotel.
As I was taking pictures a large flock of geese crept steadily closer. Many of them were young and clearly hadn't developed a fear of people yet. I ended up sitting on a picnic table while they swarmed all around me.
This girl. Every time I look at her I realize just how much she has grown up in the last year. So much.
A little game of catch...
After he finished playing catch with Chris, Landon decided it was time to torment some ducks.
Love this smile.
Ashlyn captured this picture of Chris and me. It may be one of my new favorites. Golden hour glow provides the best light ever.
More Oregon vacation to come.
