Invasion

When the kids have a day off from school (meaning worthless furlough days because the school board can't manage the budget) they play...hard.  Today I spent the day dusting, scrubbing, and vacuuming while the kids built villages, block towers, and generally went behind me and made messes where I had just cleaned.

Landon recently got a rather large quantity of army men.  After I had finished cleaning one room I rounded the corner to the staircase and this is what I saw...

As I walked through the house I realized two things: First, Landon has A LOT more army men than I realized and second, the house had quickly been overtaken by the little plastic men.  Photobucket
Everywhere I turned there were platoons of men with guns aimed and ready to attack.  It turns out there were some cowboys and Indians (yes, I know it isn't politically correct but you know what, I am Native American and I am not offended so...enough said) joined in the battle as well.

And finally I came across the Commanding Officer setting up his troops (or are those astronauts? Do they make astronauts??)

Tomorrow we have soccer games and get to spend the day celebrating our mothers.  More to come...

I love, love, love this kind of playing. All imagination and no video hardware or software. Way to go Landon! ♥
Great post!
