Ashlyn turns 7!

Wow, how the time flies! It seems like only yesterday that we were getting ready to go to dinner for Chris' birthday and my water broke! I really can't wrap my head around the fact that it has been seven years!

It amazes me to watch as my kids grow from babies and become little people with personalities and interests of their own. Ashlyn has become such a little lady. She is a very compassionate girl. She tries extremely hard not to do anything that might hurt some one's feelings. She is consistently looking for ways to encourage and build people up.

Ashlyn loves to write stories and make books. She has also become quite the artist. She is constantly drawing pictures and making cards for people. Ashlyn is my fancy girly girl and loves all things sparkly! Sparkly clothes, sparkly shoes, sparkly jewelery (are we seeing a pattern?).

Ashlyn has always done things in her own timing. Seven years ago she decided that it was time to be born even though she still had 6 weeks left to cook! The doctors scared Chris and me with statistics and said that she may not make it, she may be developmentally delayed, she will be extremely small for her age, etc, etc. We prayed that night that God would protect our little girl and help her grow strong. Despite all that the doctors told us, Ashlyn was born healthy and strong. She defied all of their statistics and amazed us all. Thank You, God!

I am so thankful for the beautiful, healthy, smart, compassionate, loving, sparkly and fancy daughter that God has blessed us with.
