Chris is currently on a week long business trip to North Carolina and Virginia. It is VERY cold there (the high one night was 12 degrees!) and they got a foot of snow that night! Unfortunately, Chris hasn't been able to go outside because he is stuck in meetings all day. He has made a lot of good contacts and got to show them what he does best! He is a great salesman and he definitely didn't waste his degree in Communications. We miss him a lot and can't wait until he comes home!
On Friday I got to go on a field trip with Ashlyn's class. We went to St. Mary's College and saw the play Rip Van Winkle. I was hoping to meet some of the other parents but it turns out that I was the only parent who signed up to chaperone Ashlyn's class. 28 kids from Ashlyn's class went on the field trip and her teacher and I tried our best to keep them all under control. Some of them were quite a handful! I got to meet the friend that Ashlyn plays with every day. I also got to give some reading tests to a few of the kids. I had a lot of fun with the class and Ashlyn was so excited that I came to help!
Last week Landon caught strep throat and it turned into scarlet fever. I took him to the doctor and got him on antibiotics right away. In no time he was much better. We think he may have had a cold at the same time and Ashlyn seem to have picked it up. Thankfully, the rest of us never caught step throat!
I got to spend the day with my brother on Saturday. I drove over to Santa Cruz and got to see his house and meet a lot of his friends and his girlfriend. I had a great time with him, as I always do. The weather was gorgeous! That night my brother and his roommates hosted a "Mom's Dinner" at their house. They invited all their mom's over and a couple of sisters and cooked us all a delicious dinner! What sweet guys!
Well, I think that is the most exciting stuff in our lives right now. In my experience it doesn't stay calm for very long so I am sure I will have some more updates soon!
