On Saturday we had to say goodbye to our baby Jade. She was the first baby Chris and I ever had and we will miss her terribly. We got to share nine and half years with her and she gave us many laughs and great memories. She snuggled up on my chest and fell asleep when we first brought her home. She quickly learned that she could scale the back of the couch and this became her favorite resting place. We used to joke that she was either part cat or mountain goat. We never had to wonder where Jade was because she was constantly grunting, snorting or snoring somewhere. Such is life with a pug - and we loved it!
When Ashlyn and Landon came along Jade was never jealous. Jade watched over Ashlyn and Landon when they were babies as if they were her own puppies. She laid right beside Ashlyn on the couch when she was little and when the kids got bigger she was a constant presence beneath their high chairs. Ashlyn would drop food down for her but Landon saw Jade as competition and guarded his food with great skill!
Jade loved to chase her toy babies around and would ultimately rip the stuffing out of them. Jade's best dog friend was my childhood boxer, Zoe, and they used to play together whenever they got together. We quickly found out that Jade would swallow greenies and rawhides whole. We are not sure if that was because she really enjoyed them or if she also thought of Landon as competition and was afraid he would grab and eat them if she didn't swallow them fast enough. She was known for falling asleep with her tongue sticking out and gave the best kisses.

Moving into our new house

"If I reach just a little closer I might just get that chip!"

Keeping a watchful eye on her baby boy.

Jade was our sweet sweet girl, we loved her dearly and she will always have a place in our hearts.

I am so sorry for your loss... we had to do the same to my childhood dog last year, so I completely understand the feelings. Prayers to you guys and the kids! She was a beautiful pup!
